Researchers from iZOOlogic have discovered a new entity in the dark web called Ophelias Secrets – intending to collect information about any form of cybercrime that its anonymous source wishes to be leaked to the public.
The dark web community might be about to face this new adversary that has recently emerged, seeking to reveal any cyber-criminal intelligence that gets submitted on their website.
Based on the new leak website, they strongly aim to gather cybercrime abuse intelligence from anyone willing to provide it to them, ensuring that their identity will be kept anonymous – as it is also stated that they are obligated to protect their sources at all costs.
Ophelias Secrets also assured its willing sources that their provision of knowledge is enough as a price for the association they are about to engage in.
The leak website stated a set of requirements for those who would submit information.
The requirements include that the individual of interest must have committed at least one crime linked to malware operations, carding or hosting platforms, forums, code contributions, and more. The sender of the information should also tie a unique identifier for the username for the individual of interest.
The Ophelias Secrets group has cleared that they are not affiliated with the government and will keep their distance from law enforcement. The group also claimed that their interests were not political.
In related news, according to a post from Ophelias Secrets website, it is about time to release the first leaks since the first few contributions had already been submitted by their anonymous sources.
It was announced that on February 21, the first leak would be posted on their leak site, which involves an exploit coder affiliated with ransomware operators. Furthermore, the upcoming leak will consist of the individual of interest’s name, location, spouse, and a photo.
Our security experts will be prepared to investigate and give updates regarding the alleged first leak of Ophelias Secrets in the coming days.
