Dark Web Threat Actor Dubai BACT BAIT Aljouda Consultation and Training Cybersecurity Breach

A dark web threat actor going by the username “Ynnian” has recently declared a cyber threat against BAIT Aljouda Consultation and Training (BACT), a leading trademark agent and business setup consultant based in Dubai, UAE.

BACT is renowned for its extensive business networks spanning the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Europe, specialising in assisting investors in establishing and growing their businesses in the UAE while successfully registering numerous companies and brands globally.

“Ynnian” allegedly stole 44,000+ lines of BACT data from the company’s official website.

The post made by “Ynnian” on January 22, 2024, Monday, surfaced in an underground forum, detailing the theft of a staggering 44,000+ lines of data from BACT’s official website, accessible at https[:]//bact.ae. The leak is claimed to have occurred on the same date, marking a significant breach in the company’s cybersecurity defences.

As of the latest update from iZOOlogic, BACT’s website remains accessible, but the potential damage from the stolen data raises concerns about the security of sensitive information held by the consultancy firm. Despite the severity of the situation, the company has not issued an official statement or responded to the purported cyberattack to authenticate the incident.

Industry experts are closely monitoring the situation, emphasising the urgent need for the consulting company to address the potential breach and reassure clients about the security of their information. The company’s clients, particularly those who have entrusted BACT with their business setup and trademark registration, are advised to be alert and implement preventive measures to protect their data.

As cybersecurity threats become increasingly sophisticated, this incident reminds businesses, even those with robust reputations and extensive networks, to prioritise and invest in advanced cybersecurity measures against potential data breaches and unauthorised access.

The aftermath of “Ynnian’s” threat could have far-reaching consequences, underscoring the importance of prompt and transparent communication from BACT to mitigate the impact on its clients and restore confidence in its cybersecurity protocols.
